A Note From Stewart Berry
Maptitude Evolves So Our Customers Can Succeed
GeoDataVision has been building bank compliance maps on desktop Maptitude for more than 20 years, roughly 700 banks worth. Their president, Len Suzio, sums up why in one line: “The sophistication is incredible, but the software is relatively simple to use.”
They now publish the finished maps with Maptitude Online, so their client banks explore the work in a browser without needing to be mapping people themselves.
Last call on the desktop side: upgrade amnesty pricing ends September 30. If you are not sure which version you have, please ask us and we will check for you.

Customer Story
Banking compliance mapping at GeoDataVision
What’s the story?
GeoDataVision is a Connecticut consulting firm that helps community banks meet Community Reinvestment Act, HMDA, and fair lending obligations. Here is why they use Maptitude:
| ✓ | One place for the data. Branch locations, loan records, and the FFIEC Census tract data required for CRA and HMDA analysis are mapped together in a single environment, rather than being assembled tool by tool from separate sources. |
| ✓ | Real service areas, not circles. Drive-time
areas around each branch demonstrate which neighborhoods an institution can realistically reach, and which communities fall outside a reasonable service radius. |
| ✓ | Maps the client can open. Analysis is performed in the desktop software and then uploaded to Maptitude Online, so bank teams and regulators can zoom, toggle layers such as income classification or minority percentage, and download reports in a browser. |
Why is this important?
Compliance mapping is only useful if someone else trusts it:
| ✓ | Coverage gaps become visible before an examination, rather than surfacing afterward as a regulatory finding. |
| ✓ | A small consulting team has delivered analysis for hundreds of financial institutions without a large technical department supporting it. |
| ✓ | Examiners consult the published maps directly, which is about as strong a vote of confidence as compliance work gets. |
|
“We’ve used Maptitude for more than 20 years and have created maps for 600–700 banks with Maptitude. We are very enthusiastic about Maptitude Online...we have gotten a tremendous response. We’ve found that even bank regulators are visiting our online maps!.”
Len Suzio President, GeoDataVision

Mortgage-Free Homes
Only three states/territories (PR, WV, and MS) have more paid-off homes than mortgaged ones. Not because owners there are wealthier, but because homes cost less and residents tend to be older. A paid-off home in Mississippi and a paid-off home in Maryland are worth very different amounts.

From The Blog
How redrawn routes made parcel inspections 50 percent more efficient
More than half of U.S. states require physical property inspections on a cycle of one to ten years. Massachusetts alone must inspect every one of its two million parcels at least once a decade. Guest author Jim Stone describes a Massachusetts city where inspectors worked from grid-based maps that split streets in half and ignored highways and open space. He rebuilt the inspection zones in Maptitude around road networks and natural barriers, then sequenced roughly 40 stops per day with the Routing and Directions Manager. The Chief Assessor estimated the new method improved efficiency by 50 percent. The article walks through the full workflow, from parcel data and geocoding to the finished route lists handed to inspectors.
